Lexington Avenue IRT 6-Line Wholecar Kings Since 1978
Dominating the IRT 6 Line with top-to-bottom whole-car productions and unmistakable Bronx letter power.
United Artists (UA) emerged in the Bronx during the late 1970s and dominated the Lexington Avenue 6 line throughout the 1980s. Anchored by Seen, Duster, Pjay, Mad, Med, Sin, and T-Kid 170, UA produced some of the most photographed subway cars immortalized in Henry Chalfant and Martha Cooper's Subway Art and Style Wars.
Richard Mirando, known worldwide as SEEN—'The Godfather of Graffiti'—began painting New York City subway trains in 1973. His full-train productions on the 6 line became legendary for their electric comic lettering, immaculate execution, and high visibility. Featured prominently in the landmark 1983 PBS documentary 'Style Wars', Seen remains an untouchable titan of the global movement.
Steven Ogburn, known as BLADE, is widely recognized as the 'King of Graffiti', having painted an astonishing estimated 5,000 New York subway cars between 1972 and 1984. As leader of the Crazy 5 (TC5), Blade invented hundreds of original letter types and wholecar concepts that inspired generations of worldwide writers.
Robbie 'CES' (WISH / CES) is the stylistic spearhead and Crew Admin of the Bronx's legendary FX Crew (and an honored member of MSK). In the 1990s, CES revolutionized modern wildstyle lettering with his interlocking, razor-edged gothic-aerodynamic letterforms and signature whip arrows.
Julius 'Terrible T-KID 170' Cavero is a living monument of Bronx subway graffiti. Surviving gang warfare in the 1970s to become a style king of the 2, 4, and 5 IRT lines, T-Kid bridged the golden subway era with the 1990s global wall boom alongside FX Crew and TATS CRU.

Before becoming world-famous as hip-hop's 'Drama King' DJ Kay Slay, Keith Grayson was legendary NYC subway writer DEZ. Featured in the classic 1983 documentary 'Style Wars', Dez was a relentless subway bomber affiliated with TCP and X-Men who remained a lifelong champion of New York graffiti culture.

Donald Joseph 'DONDI' White (1961–1998) founded Crazy Inside Artists (CIA) in 1978 and shaped the foundation of modern style writing. His iconic whole-car productions 'Children of the Grave' Parts 1, 2, and 3—immortalized by Martha Cooper and Henry Chalfant in 'Subway Art'—remain the gold standard of New York subway graffiti.

DUSTER UA is one of the most iconic subway writers of the 1970s and 1980s, immortalized alongside Seen in the classic documentary Style Wars for dominating the Lexington Avenue 6 line.
