HOLLYWOOD FREEWAY OVERPASS 'HEAVEN' BURNER // WCA 1987
WCA Co-Founder RISK pioneered painting elevated Los Angeles freeway signs ('heavens') so West Coast writers could broadcast full-color burners to ratusan of thousands of commuters daily.

Unstoppable All-City Wildstyle, Industrial Rollers & Steel Heavyweights
Founded in Los Angeles in 1987, Mad Society Kings redefined large-scale West Coast graffiti and global technical lettering. MSK writers transformed billboard takeovers, industrial roller letters, and concrete river banks into monuments of aerosol discipline and relentless style.
Originating under founders like Saber, Revok, Risk, and fellow LA heavyweights, MSK quickly grew across California, Detroit, and New York. The crew became globally synonymous with audacity, monumental letter scale, and groundbreaking gallery transitions while maintaining unmatched street dominance.

Jason Williams, known globally as REVOK, is one of the most influential graffiti artists in contemporary history. Beginning in Los Angeles in 1990, he co-founded MSK (Mad Society Kings) and pushed letterforms to unprecedented technical complexity. His career encompasses historic street campaigns across Los Angeles and Detroit as well as critically acclaimed museum exhibitions at MOCA Los Angeles and international galleries.

Ryan Weston Shook, known as SABER, achieved graffiti immortality in 1997 when he painted the world-famous 250ft by 55ft piece along the concrete embankment of the Los Angeles River—visible from high-altitude satellites and standing for 12 years. As a lead admin of MSK, Saber represents the pinnacle of large-scale environmental aerosol painting and fierce advocacy for artists' free expression.

Marquis Lewis, working under the moniker RETNA, developed a globally celebrated constructed script blending Arabic, Old English, Incan, and traditional Los Angeles gang cholo handstyles. Joining MSK in the late 1990s, RETNA took calligraphic graffiti from LA street walls to monumental facades in Wynwood, Paris, Hong Kong, and major opera set designs.

Jordan Nickel (POSE) bridges the classic energy of Chicago rail yards with hyper-vibrant pop art and traditional sign-painting discipline. A prominent MSK member since 2004, POSE crafts layered, collage-like compositions of sliced comic cells, letters, and bold Americana iconography on streets and in elite museums.

Jersey Joe, known across the globe as RIME, is celebrated as one of graffiti's premier character and letter innovators. Emerging from the New York/New Jersey freight yards before joining MSK in Los Angeles, RIME's manic cartoon expressions and razor-sharp color outlines set modern graffiti character standards.

EKLIPS is one of the primary architects of modern Los Angeles graffiti culture. Brought into MSK early by founder Baba, Eklips founded AWR (All Writes Reserved / Angels Will Rise) and in 1999 united AWR and MSK under The Seventh Letter umbrella and Known Gallery on Fairfax Avenue.

Kelly Graval, known globally as RISK, co-founded WCA (West Coast Artists) in 1985 alongside Rival, Miner, and P-Jay. Widely revered as the Godfather of West Coast Graffiti, Risk pioneered painting freeway overpass signs ('heavens'), freight wholecars, and Third Rail streetwear before exhibiting in museums worldwide.

ZES is an unmistakable force in AWR and MSK. Known across Los Angeles for fearless rooftop heaven spots, aggressive high-contrast burners, and monumental contemporary murals in the DTLA Arts District alongside Saber and Revok.

AUGOR is one of the most recognizable stylists in MSK and AWR, famous for combining high-risk Los Angeles freeway heaven spots with razor-sharp, neon-drenched wildstyle letters and gruesome comic-horror characters.

Robbie 'CES' (WISH / CES) is the stylistic spearhead and Crew Admin of the Bronx's legendary FX Crew (and an honored member of MSK). In the 1990s, CES revolutionized modern wildstyle lettering with his interlocking, razor-edged gothic-aerodynamic letterforms and signature whip arrows.

ASKEW ONE is the spearhead of New Zealand's TMD (The Most Dedicated) and a core member of MSK, MUL, and The Seventh Letter. Leading TMD to multiple Write4Gold World Championships in Germany, Askew transformed southern-hemisphere style writing into a global movement.

High-speed 4K time-lapse video documenting REVOK executing a massive mechanical wildstyle roller and aerosol production in an active downtown LA rail yard. Spotlights, can shakes, and razor-sharp line work captured in ultra-definition.

SABER brought high-pressure aerosol can control into an empty backyard kidney pool in Silver Lake, wrapping vibrant wildstyle letters seamlessly around the curved concrete transition right up to the coping stones.

A pristine whole-car boxcar burner painted on a CSX freight train in Brooklyn by RIME. Features his manic buck-toothed character gripping high-pressure spray cans intertwined with interlocking bubble-wildstyle letters.

POSE's vibrant multi-layered comic pop wall in Chicago's West Loop. Sharp cut-out typography, retro half-tone Ben-Day dots, and layered wildstyle shards assemble into an explosive contemporary mural.

A monumental two-story Wynwood Arts District facade painted in RETNA's signature monochromatic hieroglyphic script. The flowing vertical columns contain poetic street scriptures encoded in his proprietary alphabet.

Constructed using salvaged Detroit architectural timbers and multi-can spirograph aerosol rigs, REVOK created this landmark relief sculpture combining kinetic aerosol marks with structural street history.

Painted over 35 consecutive night missions between 1996 and 1997, SABER's colossal LA River piece measured 250 feet wide by 55 feet high, requiring 97 gallons of paint and 350 aerosol cans. It stood for 12 years and was photographed by high-resolution satellites.
