Broadway 1 & 3 Line Kings & Global Character-Wildstyle Innovators
From Broadway IRT subway tunnels to museum walls across New York and Europe.
Founded on the West Side of Manhattan and the Bronx, Fame City (FC) became synonymous with high-style burners on the 1 and 3 IRT subway lines. Led into the modern era by West One alongside pioneers Phase 2, Mode 2, Doze Green, Daze, Crash, Serge, and Phil 167, FC bridged classic subway style and global contemporary art.

Jeffery 'Doze' Green is a foundational polymath of original New York hip-hop culture—both an original b-boy in the Rock Steady Crew and a core subway writer in The Cool 5 (TC5). His biological-cubist characters and fluid calligraphic canvases are exhibited in museums worldwide.

Born in Brooklyn in 1962, Chris 'DAZE' Ellis began painting New York City subway cars in 1976 while attending the High School of Art and Design. A key member of Crazy Inside Artists (CIA), The Cool 5 (TC5), and TATS CRU collaborator, Daze was one of the first subway writers to transition successfully into international galleries alongside Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
Born in the Bronx in 1961, John 'CRASH' Matos began bombing trains at age 13 and curated the landmark 1980 'Graffiti Art Success for America' exhibition at Fashion Moda. A key member of CIA and longtime TATS CRU collaborator, Crash also painted custom Stratocaster guitars for Eric Clapton.
PHASE 2 (1955–2019) is universally revered as the Founding Father of modern graffiti style, inventing the 'Softie' bubble letter, arrows, and complex masterpieces on NYC subways.

WEST ONE is the longtime leader of Manhattan's Fame City (FC) crew, bridging 1980s Broadway 1-line subway burners with large-scale international murals and design.

MODE 2 is one of the most influential character and figurative aerosol painters in graffiti history, co-founding the Chrome Angelz (TCA) and representing NYC's Fame City (FC) in Europe.
